USA Mid-term Elections and the Need to Pray

By the year 2020, 40% of the electorate will be Millennial. According to recent surveys almost 70% of Millennials said they would vote for a socialist. The good(?) news is that they couldn’t accurately define what socialism is. Lots of room for education. So little time. Unless the Lord intervenes, losing this country may not wait until the ‘next’ generation. They are here. And given the special elections we are losing around the country, it looks like they have already kicked in. It is critically important to pray against the work of the enemy to deceive America’s youth – especially women.

Women outvote men in America by a lot. They tend to vote significantly to the left of men - especially younger women. That’s what the ‘War on Women’ was all about - appealing to under-informed women. Again, it is critically important to pray against deception.

Democrats need to win 23 seats to take control of the House. In the past 20 mid-term elections (40 years) the party in control of the White House has lost an average of 24 seats, with the exception of Kennedy after the Bay of Pigs, and George W after 911 when the party in power in the White House actually gained seats.

Here is the prayer challenge: 24 Republican members are running for re-election in districts that Hillary won. This is going to take as big a prayer push as the 2016 elections did. If we lose the House or the Senate, the freedom agenda will be blocked and impeachment proceedings will commence immediately.

BOTS have been launched to deceive corporations into thinking that there are 10’s of thousands of people swarming for change. Case in point: with the recent school shooting, BOTS have swarmed corporations that affiliate with the NRA. Citigroup and MetLife just discontinued their relationship with the NRA due to ‘public pressure’ not understanding that the pressure is the result of a few very adept social media manipulators. Also, the MSM has published lists of businesses who are affiliated with the NRA.

Can’t emphasize enough how important to pray against the work of the “Liar and Father of Lies”…. especially in media (social and otherwise). More than almost anything, we need to pray that God will awaken the electorate to the truth, and destroy the enemy’s attempts to deceive. Jesus referred to the “Prince of the Power of the Air”. The airwaves have been dominated by deception for decades.

We need to break the strongholds of deception over media, education, entertainment and the church. Yes, the church. Soros has invested heavily in seminaries in an effort to put a leftist spin on scripture. It was a brilliant strategy. The church is confused, dis-unified and unaware. The Catholic Church, for instance, is basically split right down the middle. If we can turn the church back to truth, we can turn the country.

(A concerned prayer leader)

Let’s do join in prayer that deception will be overthrown in the upcoming mid-term elections (November) and that people with Socialist and Leftist views will be hindered from being elected. Pray that the “swamp” of Washington DC will be cleansed from those who have selfish and wicked motives and that those the Lord has chosen will be put into power to lead the USA forward and in order to become a blessing to the rest of the world.

US sanctions Russia for cyber-attacks

On 15 March the United States issued sanctions on 19 Russian individuals and five Russian groups, including Moscow’s intelligence services, for meddling in the 2016 US election and malicious cyber-attacks. They said there would be additional sanctions against Russian government officials and oligarchs ‘for their destabilising activities’, but did not give a time frame for those sanctions, which would sever the individuals’ access to the US financial system. Those targeted by the new sanctions include the Russian nationals and entities who adopted false online personas to push divisive messages, travelled to the United States to collect intelligence, and staged political rallies while posing as Americans. The action blocks all property of those targeted that is subject to US jurisdiction, and prohibits American citizens from engaging in transactions with them.

North Korea: history with US presidents

No US president has ever met a North Korean leader. Madeleine Albright visited North Korea’s Kim Jong Il, but Bill Clinton was unwilling to go unless it was clear what such a meeting could achieve. A meeting with a US president is valuable to the North Koreans, but America has always declined an official visit unless a deal that will deliver a significant return is on the table. President Bush engaged North Korea in the six-party talks (two Koreas, Japan, US, Russia and China), thus avoiding Pyongyang incitements to secure its goal of direct talks. Barack Obama came to power vowing to talk directly to America's enemies, but concluded it was wrong to pander to North Korea's provocations. Trump’s potential visit (or meeting elsewhere) has given North Korea’s dynasty the prestige and propaganda that it craves, and is consistent with Trump's vow to be a disruptive global force, able to unpick one of the world's most intractable conflicts.

North Korea: breakthrough?

North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and US president Donald Trump are to meet in person by May, it has been announced, an extraordinary overture after months of mutual hostility. This news came after South Korean officials had held talks with Mr Trump at the White House. They passed a verbal message from Mr Kim, saying the North Korean leader was ‘committed to denuclearisation’. Mr Trump hailed ‘great progress’ but said sanctions would remain in place. South Korea's President Moon Jae-in said the news was like a miracle. ‘If President Trump and Chairman Kim meet following an inter-Korean summit, complete denuclearisation of the Korean peninsula will be put on the right track in earnest’, he said. China welcomed the development, saying the Korean peninsula issue was ‘heading in the right direction’. However, correspondents say the North has halted missile and nuclear tests during previous talks, only to resume them when it felt it was not getting what it demanded. The dramatic announcement came days after a high-ranking South Korean delegation had met Mr Kim in Pyongyang. See

USA: ‘Turnaround’

From 22 to 24 February intercessors from across the USA gathered in Washington DC to pray for a ‘Turnaround’. Many felt this could prove to be one of the most historic prayer gatherings in America's history. They filled the spiritual atmosphere over Washington with intercession and biblical declarations to bring the USA into a spiritual breakthrough that only God can give the nation. During the gathering they launched the next phase of what they believe will be a worldwide prayer movement, as they and many others sense change is coming across the nations.

USA: gun control - no easy answers

Students have taken to the streets to protest on the gun control issue. Senator Bill Galvano said, ‘Enough is enough: something must change.’ President Trump - who was elected with the support of the National Rifle Association (NRA) - has so far offered a ban on a bump stock gun accessory linked to the Florida shooting, and the implementation of a law to enforce background checks already on the books but not fully operative. The NRA are willing to regulate bump stocks, but gun rights activists have already rallied to protect the devices. Trump’s latest words on the subject suggested arming teachers and school staff. Meanwhile, the ‘Fix Nics Act’ that Trump supports does not change the categories of who are barred from buying a gun, or the requirement for gun buyers to pass a background check before purchasing a firearm.

Two US destroyers sent into Black Sea

Two American destroyers have sailed into the Black Sea, the first time since 2014 that more than one US warship has operated in this tense region other than in an exercise. ‘Our decision to have two ships operate simultaneously in the Black Sea is proactive, not reactive’, said vice admiral Christopher Grady. ‘We operate at the tempo and timing of our choosing in this strategically important region.’ Russia has viewed US ships transiting these international waters as provocative, ever since it annexed Ukraine's Crimean peninsula in 2014. ‘The US is sending a message that it will defend its allies, uphold maritime laws and protect its offshore interests in Europe and Asia’, said a Naval War College professor of strategy. ‘We're putting Russia on notice in the Black Sea and China on notice in the South China Sea that we will not be deterred from going into those waters, and doing so in force.’

USA: another school gun shooting

19-year-old Nikolas Cruz massacred 17 students on Valentine’s day in Coconut Creek, Florida, and injured dozens more. He carried an AR-15 semi-automatic rifle and ‘countless magazines’ into the school; he wore a gas mask, and may have had smoke bombs. When he activated the fire alarm, the children poured out of the classrooms into the hall, where they were killed or wounded. Cruz was described as having an obsessive interest in weapons; all he talked about was guns, knives and hunting. A fellow student said, ‘Everyone predicted the shooting’. Pray for anointed grief counsellors who will be seeing students and families in the coming days. Pray for peace and comfort for those mourning the loss of family members and friends, and for speedy recovery of the wounded. Meanwhile several lawmakers called for gun control. Chris Murphy took to the Senate floor and criticised congressional inaction on gun issues even after multiple deadly shootings year after year. See also

US prison conditions and British hacker

A British appeals court rejected demands from America for the extradition of British hacker Lauri Love, citing the inability of US prisons to treat his medical and mental health ailments humanely and adequately. The court ruled that extradition to the US would be ‘oppressive by reason of his physical and mental condition’. Lauri has severe depression, Asperger’s syndrome, asthma, and eczema that has incapacitated him for years, causing him to drop out of colleges despite very high intellectual capability. If extradited, he would have faced solitary confinement and a 99-year prison sentence. American prisons are woefully inadequate to treat his ailments. Incarceration would produce a high risk of suicide. This case highlights the fact that the US prison system has a cruel and abusive attitude when it comes to treating inmates with mental health problems.
